june 17th, 2001; connections??
mrs. brooke at the library also gave me the stink eye today when I asked to pull up the red creek tribune microfilm from june of 2001 again. she said something about “digging up ghosts that ought to stay buried,” which is exactly the sort of thing someone says (or hears) right before they turn up missing in the second act of a horror movie.
anyways, there's something weird about the june 17th edition. the paper ran no obituaries that day. that never happens in Red Creek, especially not in the sunday paper. there's always someone’s cousin’s uncle’s cat that died. I’ve seen them run obituaries for a deer that sprinted in front of clarence levey’s station wagon. But there is literally nothing. just some front page story about how the school district received new buses. which, if you've been following my research, you'll know is really suspicious because that's the same year that bus 267A disappeared.
either way I'll be back with more updates soon, unless mrs. brooke hexes me or something.
